Tianxiong Hu is a partner at Beijing Merits & Tree Law Offices.


Since 2016, Mr. Hu has focused exclusively on distressed company rescue and bankruptcy‑related matters. He primarily acts as a court‑appointed administrator, helping companies overcome difficulties through reorganizations or achieving efficient and orderly liquidations. In recent years, he has been particularly involved in numerous reorganizations of listed companies and large enterprise groups, many of which have been recognized as landmark cases at both national and local levels.


Beyond his role as an administrator, Mr. Hu also advises bankruptcy stakeholders including investors, creditors, debtors, shareholders and actual controllers. He assists clients in using various restructuring tools to resolve debt risks, improve governance structures, or achieve orderly exits. He also helps clients conduct corporate/asset acquisitions and debtor‑in‑possession (DIP) financing.

  • Acted as administrator in the consolidated reorganization of Chongqing Energy Group and its 16 affiliates (recognized as one of the 2022 Top Ten National Bankruptcy Classic Cases, one of the Top Ten Commercial Trial Classic Cases of Chongqing Courts in 2022, and one of the Top Ten Classic Cases of Chongqing Bankruptcy Court)
  • Acted as pre-pack administrator in the pre-packaged reorganization of Zhongji Health (000972)
  • Acted as administrator in the reorganization of Dongyi Risheng (002713) (nominated as one of the 2025 National Bankruptcy Classic Cases)
  • Acted as pre-pack administrator in the pre-packaged reorganization of Tech-Bank Food (002124)
  • Acted as administrator in the reorganization of Dooyou Education (300010) (recognized as a classic case on the fifth anniversary of the Beijing Bankruptcy Court)
  • Acted as administrator in the reorganization of Huayi Jiaming (300071) (the first listed company reorganization case in Beijing, nominated as one of the 2021 National Bankruptcy Classic Cases)
  • Acted as administrator in the coordinated reorganization of Yinge Investment (400094) and its six subsidiaries (nominated as one of the 2022 National Bankruptcy Classic Cases, and recognized as a bankruptcy trial classic case by the Henan High People's Court)
  • Acted as administrator in the reorganization of Xiamen XGMA (600815) (named as one of the Top Ten Typical Cases of Fujian Courts in 2019)
  • Acted as administrator in the reorganization of Wanrui Feihong (recognized as one of the Top Ten Classic Cases of Beijing Bankruptcy Court)
  • Acted as administrator in the consolidated reorganization of Xilin Iron and Steel Group and its 40 affiliates
  • Acted as administrator in the reorganization of Sichuan Guxu Coalfield and its four affiliates
  • Acted as legal counsel to investors in the consolidated reorganization of New Changan Holding and its five affiliates
  • Acted as legal counsel to investors in the consolidated reorganization of HNA Group and its 321 affiliates, as well as the coordinated reorganization of HNA Holding (600221) and its 11 affiliates
  • Participated as legal counsel to investors in the reorganization of a cultural tourism company subsidiary of a Sichuan state-owned enterprise.
  • Participated in the debt risk resolution work for China Oceanwide Group and Oceanwide Holdings (400205).
